Driving the Future of Collision Repair: How Education, Industry, and Innovation Are Rebuilding the Technician Pipeline
Mary Mahoney
President, Collision Engineering Career Alliance
speaker biography...

This presentation explores how the Collision Engineering Career Alliance is reshaping the future of the collision repair workforce through a national, industry-driven training model. Developed in response to the technician shortage, the program unites education and industry to deliver workforce-ready talent through hands-on apprenticeships, an associate-degree pathway, and employer-guided curriculum.

With Department of Labor recognition and implementation across partner colleges nationwide, the model has achieved strong outcomes, including full job placement prior to graduation, above-average starting wages, and high student retention. Attendees will gain insight into the evolving needs of today’s students and employers, the critical role of whole-person learning, and how collaborative workforce development can strengthen local pipelines while supporting innovation and long-term industry sustainability.
